Let’s do a Q & A

Why Cytherea Weddings?

Chloe and the main team have over a decade of experience in the wedding industry and reside on Kythira island. This local expertise means they have intimate knowledge of every vendor, church, venue, hotel, restaurant, and beach on the island. Additionally, their proximity allows them to conduct quick site inspections, which they can share with you via video or video call.

What is your process?

Once you have reviewed our services, pricing, and information, and completed our questionnaire, we will reach out to schedule a video call. This call is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, explain our process, discuss your vision, and answer any questions you may have. If we both agree it’s a good fit, we will proceed with signing a contract to finalize our agreement and begin planning your wedding.

Can we have a legal ceremony in any location of our choice?

Civil ceremonies in Kythira typically take place at City Hall on specific days of the week and rarely outside, although exceptions are possible. Greek Orthodox weddings in a church require that at least one spouse is Greek Orthodox and the other is Catholic, baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity. Symbolic ceremonies can be held at privately owned locations of your choice without the need for any paperwork.

Do you handle the paperwork for Orthodox or civil weddings?

We have an exclusive partner with extensive experience in handling wedding paperwork. This service is available for an additional fee.

Do you have exclusive partnerships with specific vendors?

While we have preferred and vetted vendors, we do not have exclusive partnerships. Our vendor recommendations are based on your vision, style, and budget.

What budgets do you usually work with?

Given Kythira’s remote location, there are high shipping costs and travel expenses for vendors. For weddings of about 80 guests, our typical budgets start at approximately €40,000-50,000 for the "Day-of" excluding wedding attire, flight tickets, accommodation, and pre/post wedding festivities.

Will you be present on the day?

One of our head wedding planners, will be by your side from the day before the wedding, throughout the wedding day, and until the last guest departs.

Do I need to visit Kythira before my wedding?

Visiting Kythira before your wedding is not necessary if you do not have the time. We can plan all the details via email and video calls. However, if you choose to visit, we will organize a full itinerary for your visit, including meeting vendors, venue inspections, and food tastings.

Are all vendors needed based in Kythira?

Kythira is a beautiful island with a growing tourist industry, but there are currently few vendors and suppliers based on the island. Therefore, we collaborate with top wedding vendors from Athens to create unforgettable weddings. Please note that service costs increase due to additional shipping expenses.

You do weddings only at Kythira?

For the moment we plan and design weddings exclusively at Kythira.
